Derrick, originally from Orlando, Fl is an ER nurse currently working at Randolph Medical Center in North Carolina. His two daughters Katrina, 11 and Karissa, 8 travel with him along with their Collar/Lab mix dog Lilo who’s 5. My wife Carie will be joining us shortly too. Derrick decided to start traveling because of the flexibility, pay and choice of where he would like to eventually live. I’ve lived in Florida for 19 years and I really like Asheboro. I think I am going to make it my home. The price of living is incredible and the people are really friendly here- for me it’s a better quality of life. We asked Derrick what he likes to do in his leisure- I like to go to the gym, mountain biking at Uwharrie State Park. I also like fishing at Lake Badin, playing ball with my dog and spending time with my family. I have a passion for photography but I had to opt for nursing because it pays the bills however I would like to get back in to photography though. Derrick was told about Cirrus through a traveling co worker- She had nothing but great things to say about the company. I went on-line, filled out the application and was immediately contacted by Recruiter Ashley Parrish. Ashley is a great recruiter. She is very personable, helpful and has great follow-up skills. She stays in contact with me whether I need updates or to check on me during my assignment. We asked Derrick what are his long term career goals- I want to get my Nurse Practitioner Degree. I look forward to going back to school. I’ve been looking at a few on-line schools. At the hospital where I work I have traveler friends and we constantly discuss our career goals. We also discuss the great benefits that traveling has from paid housing to the choice of which facility you would like to work. Since I’ve been traveling with Cirrus everything has gone smooth and I am really pleased. We at Cirrus are really pleased to have Derrick be a part of our family too. Keep up the great work Derrick!
