Pamela N.

Name: Pamela N.
State: Ohio
Job Title: Critical Care, Telemetry Nurse

True to her love of walking and sightseeing, particularly at Zoo’s, Pamela N. can be found along various trails in various states when she’s not treating critical care patients.  Don’t be shocked if she’s being followed an animal.  That's just Betty B, her traveling Yorkie.

Pamela hails from Ohio and still lives there when she’s not on the road.  She’s been nursing for three years and has already done so much (moving between specialties).  She began her nursing career in Telemetry, but now works in Critical Care.  She’s been traveling one year and has already been from Virginia to Florida to Pennsylvania to Minnesota, where’s she’s currently working.  Pamela quotes, “There are so many things I love about traveling.  Seeing the country, making new friends, and getting to update my skill sets continuously…that’s tops on the list for me.  I even saw “fake snow” for the first time.”  As for exposure to various health care environments, she’s been awestruck by an incredible Christmas Dinner for employees in Tampa, FL (complete with elaborate tree, Santa complete w/sleigh, his team of elves and live reindeer all on the hospital patio.  Not bad scenery while munching on shrimp cocktail, assorted meats/pastas/cheeses/fruits served by the management and CEO at that!).  Pamela claims that everywhere she’s gone, the people have been wonderful, but her most memorable experience was in Mt. Vernon, VA.  The Critical Care nurses always included her in their activities inside and outside of the hospital (even sightseeing in Washington, D.C.) and she absolutely loved that assignment and always felt so welcomed too.  When asked about working with Cirrus, she states, “my recruiter, Wendy, makes me feel special and we have a bond that’s developed into a real friendship.  Everyone there works really hard to get the best for me on each assignment and they have safe housing and that’s important to me.”  Pamela’s advice for travelers… “Even though you ask good questions during your interviews, there will be disappointments along the way, but make it a journey.  Take the positives that you gain from these experiences and move along.  What this has done for me is made me more flexible.  As a result, I am much more marketable and have become a better professional for it.  If that doesn’t work for you, (and most of all) go have some fun!”  Now our perspective of Pamela:  We just gave you a glimpse into why she’s our featured traveler.  From fake snow to her inspiring attitude, there is NOTHING about this Nurse we don’t LOVE!  We’re proud to even know her!  Thanks Pamela.  We’ll go “zoo’ing” with you and Betty B any day of the week!
