Liz S.

Name: Liz S.
State: North Carolina
Job Title: RN, ICU

Score:  10!  Great attitude, clinically superior, a mind that's rock solid, impeccable behavior and a true pleasure to work with!  Hoopla?  Not at all...this is simply the character of Liz S., one of our finest!

Liz has been a nurse for 32 years.  Her first six years were spent as an LPN and she later became an RN.  She has worked in large, medium and small hospitals ranging from Level III to Level I Trauma Centers and has worked with the best of staffs.  She became a traveler only nine months ago and has been traveling with Cirrus for the last six months.  Traveling has renewed her spirit for nursing and we couldn't be more proud to have Liz work at ANY of our client sites.  She travelers with Midnight, her amazing flying cat (great story) and is well versed in all levels of ICU care.  Her favorite ICU work is in Trauma Critical Care.  She's an avid reader of anything that she can get her hands on and loves photography.  She also works on "counted cross stitching" and is a raving "JAG" fan (or shall we say a raving David James Elliott fan...who happens to be the "other" hobby for Liz).

Her favorite traveling experience was an assignment in Washington, D.C.  Liz is a quote: "patriotic slob" unquote (see why we love working with her?), and has always wanted to spend time at the nation's capitol.  Liz believes that she would have never been able to do that if it weren't for being a traveling nurse.

When asked what she likes best about being a traveler, Liz responded, "getting paid to see the things and places that I've dreamed about".  A sited example was her attendance of the WWII Memorial Dedication in D.C.  She claims that she's made some great friends from all over the world (Australia, Africa, Asia, Canada - and at one hospital at that!).

We asked Liz to give some advice to new travelers and her response is, "You're never too old to do this.  Just go into the experience with open eyes and an open mind.  Be yourself.  Soak up every new happening like a sponge and you'll be a better person for it.  If you don't like where you're at....it's 13 weeks and it passes quickly."  Her message to the experienced travelers is to continue to support each other in person and through the "net".  Travelers are amazing people with so much to share.  Keep doing what you're doing...the world needs all the caring, giving people it can get."

This is our Liz and this is why she's one of our finest.
